Mitt projekt har handlat om att ta steget till att bli mer sja?lvsta?ndig vid instuderingen av nya stycken. Att va?ga go?ra saker utan la?rarens hja?lp och lita pa? sin egen intuition och kunskap. Jag valde att arbeta med stycket Sonat no.

Denna uppsats är en studie av solokadensens väsen; historiskt sett och idag. Min avsikt har varit att undersöka hur man kan gå tillväga för att själv göra en kadens till en av Mozarts violinkonserter (nr 5 A-dur, K. V 219), något som inte är praxis idag. Med hjälp av en tillbakablick på solokadensens ursprung och utformning genom tiderna, samt en analys av fyra stycken existerande kadenser till konserten, har jag fått inspiration till min egen konstnärliga process. Denna resulterade i en inspelning av första satsen ur konserten med min kadens.

A qualitative text analysis has then been used as a method of analysing the material.Main results: Solo G focuses a lot more on celebrities than Solo. Solo G uses the celebrities as role models to the youth to look up to.

The purpose of this essay was to find out how violin students apprehend their tuition and if it is possible to achieve good results without negative comparison or competition.The examination is based on eight in-depth interviews with violin students between 8 and19 years of age. All of the students had a strong will to develop and to feel satisfied with their achievements. Almost all of them agree that some degree of comparison and competition between violin students does exist. Although some of the students had seen negative sides of such competition, they agree on comparison as a good thing as long as it´s positive..

Events that have effected music teachers? view on education - Interviews with four violin-teachers. The purpose of this research is to find out what forms the violin-teachers view on how education shall be operated. Through qualitative interviews, four violin-teachers from around Sweden have told about their growing up, higher musical education and what is current. The result shows that the higher musical education and their own teachers throughout the years are factors that have partially shaped their views.

I have analysed the use of portamenti by violinists Janine Jansen, Itzhak Perlman, Jascha Heifetz and Nathan Milstein in the first 8 bars and the two parallel phrases of the Max Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor. I have copied their portamenti and recorded myself performing theese phrases in style of each violinist. By doing this I have learnt new ways to use shifting on the violin for expressive purposes and realized how much there is to learn by imitating your predecessor..

Title: Violin technique in folk music education. The purpose of this research has been to examine how violin teachers who are folk musicians teach violin playing techniques. Through litterature studies and qualitative interviews I have studied the relationship between teaching methods regarding violin playing techniques of the two genres folk music and classical music and how the teachers in the study relate to this. Mywork shows that the teachers use a variety of methods and material from both genres which they have come in contact with through different parts of their education.Jag har undersökt hur fyra fiollärare inom genren folkmusik arbetar med fiolteknik med sina elever. Genom litteraturstudier och kvalitativa intervjuer har jag undersökt relationen mellan undervisningstraditioner för teknikövning inom genrerna folkmusik och klassisk musik och hur lärarna förhåller sig till detta.

In his master thesis, Johan Jutterström pursues an anti-aesthetic and ethic artistic process. He?s using mainly three different strategies; reasoning through text, composing for ensemble, and solo improvising on the saxophone. Through composing the piece for 12 musicians Trästolen, Jutterström tries to erase himself and his taste from the music. In that endeavor he looks to physics as a catalyst.

He became a popular violinist who later developed his own style. He used the potential of the violin to its extreme and explored new possibilities on the instrument.

In this work I have examined how two violin students, who are used to the classical music tradition, think when they learn to play Swedish folk music, with focus on rhythm and beating the time with their feet. One of the students is studying on her first year to be a classical violin teacher and the other student is studying on her third year to be a classical musician, both are studying at Malmö Academy of Music. I had three lessons, one hour each, with these two students where I taught them some basics in how to play Swedish folk music. After the last lesson I interviewed the two students. I have done interviews with two teachers at Malmö Academy of Music; Wieslawa Szymczynska and Mats Edén.

By transcribing one drum solo recorded and performed by myself and another performed by Philly Jo Jones, a drummer I?ve heard and listened to through out my life, I try to find answers to the question: How much are we influenced by the music and the musicians we listen to?My experiment starts with me recording a improvised drum solo and then transcribing it. Then I found and transcribed a drumsolo by Philly Jo Jones that I had not heard before. The results of these experiments showed some interesting similarities between my own playing style and Philly Jo Jones and I learned a lot about what stuck with me from listening to him playing, and what didn?t..

Detta arbete syftar till att fördjupa kunskapen om hur violin- och violalärare kan arbeta för att ge sina elever som utövar klassik musik möjlighet att minimera stress och nervositet i samband med provspelning och konserttillfälle. I bakgrundskapitlet presenteras orsaker till samt förebyggande åtgärder för att hantera stress. Dessutom redogörs för musikdidaktiska perspektiv på instrumentalundervisning. Studien har genomförts med kvalitativ intervju som metod. Fyra lärare och musiker har intervjuats.

Detta examensarbete utgår från Johannes Brahms liv och bakgrund för att analysera och tolka hans Sonat för violin och piano Op. 108. En strukturell och delvis harmonisk analys beskrivs därefter samt en utläggning för hur styckets svårigheter angrips ur ett speltekniskt perspektiv. Syftet med studien är att få en helhet och överblick över sonaten både strukturmässigt men även att förstå kompositörens tonspråk med dess influenser och tankar kring musiken. Since none of W.A Mozart's own cadenzas for his Violin Concerto no. 4 in D major have been preserved, and there is only one existing standard cadenza by Joseph Joachim, I have chosen to write my own cadenza, but in the end I decided to write three cadenzas. As a background to my thesis I analyzed and studied the different motives in the first movement, as well as four cadenzas from different eras. I made a comparison of these four cadenzas, looking at how the composers have used the different themes and motives from the concerto. I have also explained the meaning and purpose of the term cadenza.

Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka elevers inställningar till matematik samt deras tillvägagångssätt när de löser matematikuppgifter av olika svårighetsgrad. Undersökningen vi genomfört består av två delar; en enkätundersökning utformad som ett prov och semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultaten ledde oss till följande slutsatser: motivationen är central för elevernas prestationer i matematik och att problemlösningsorienterad matematikundervisning bör vara kärnan i matematiken då den ger möjligheten till att få en djupare förståelse för matematiken i stort. Denna problemlösning bör vara utan specifika ramar och metoder för att skapa en frimodig och kreativ problemlösare. .
